What is the most versatile guitar out there? I play jazz and rock.?

I've been looking at Godins and they look pretty good. Nobody better answer with something from Fender. I have a Strat and theres no convincing way to play jazz with a Strat. Maybe a guitar with Roland's pickup technology. Thanks for any suggestions.

How about a nice Gibson 335. Actually any semi hollow jazz style guitar would be suitable for almost anything you wanted to play. They are used by everyone from Brian Setzer to Freddie Green. The Beatles used the Epiphone copy and most professional guitarists have at least one in the closet to take out on pay gigs. They are extremely roadworthy, not as subject to feedback in a live setting, and usually speak well in a variety of genres.
