How long is battery life on active pickups?
I just bought a bass with active pickups, and I was wondering about how long the 9 volt in it should last on average, and wether or not its the life is beign used when not plugged into the amp.

I have an Ibanez SGR 505 bass with "Bartolini" actives. I get 10 -12 hrs of play time on my rechargable 9volt. If you leave the guitar plugged in while the amp is off, the battery will "bleed" back and it will die much quicker. Get 2 ( have a back-up) rechargable batteries and a charger, all for under $35 at Walmart. It will save you a lot of $$$ and it keeps the toxic battery waste out of our water table.
